Now to work the bugs out

The 59 Electra is on top of the 75 Suburban Chassis and is running with the power of a freshly rebuilt 454. Here are a few pictures just out of the shop. It's SWEET!

Almost complete

The Buick is on the 75 Suburban Chassis. The 454 has had a complete 3 way grind valve job and is running ridiculously smooth. I got an old 1988 Suburban that was a GM donation vehicle to a local school with only 800 miles on it basically given to me. We've taken all the like new brakes, gas lines, rear axle, front steering, you name it, and put it to use on the Buick 75 chassis. All the lights are working and now it is mechanically complete and ready to road test and get the bugs worked out. I'm waiting on one more Michelin 15" tire to show up and it'll have all new treads too! We slung the rear axle on top of the springs given it a lower look - almost original looking. Check it out.

Transplant has begun

Here are a few pictures taken from tonight. The first are of the old frame and engine and transmission - a Buick Wildcat 445 and a Triple Turbine Dynaflow - what do I do with those. The Buick is sitting above, and body mounts are being measured / placed above. The rear axle has to move four inches forward as well. It's coming together quite nicely - Great work Chevy Ave!

Here is the future chassis

The future chassis will be a 1975 Suburban 1/2 ton trailering special with a 454 and Turbo 400. Looking sweet.

The Buick lift

Here are a few pictures of the Buick being lifted off its 48 year old frame - it's a little tired. I am glad we are doing this - the frame gets really narrow in the rear - where the hitch is. Once this up high enough, the old chassis will be pulled out and the new will be inserted underneath - Chevy power.
